Kinesiology is defined as the study of movement. This definition may be general, as kinesiology combines anatomy, physiology, physics, and other disciplines. Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement, aiming to understand how the human body moves and responds to physical activity. As kinesiology combines many different disciplines, it is not a good idea to study kinesiology until you have acquired sufficient basic knowledge. When you have acquired enough basic knowledge of the functioning of the human body and have successfully completed kinesiology, you have made a huge step forward in understanding the functioning of the human body in the context of movements.
Requirements for starting a course
There are two prerequisites for participation in the Kinesiology e-course: you must have previously completed the Functional Anatomy and Human Anatomy and Physiology course. This is because the aforementioned e-courses provide knowledge of the skeletal muscles and other systems of the human body; also, information about the basic human body movements is acquired. This is essential for a more systematic understanding of the movements performed in the context of the skeletal muscles and joints, as the Kinesiology e-course will cover these topics in even greater detail.
If you plan to participate in the Kinesiology online course, please send us a copy of your Human Anatomy and Physiology and Functional Anatomy course certificates by e-mail (koolitused@multifarius.ee) after registering for the online course. You do not need to send copies of the certificates if you have completed these courses with us. In addition to previous studies, we also consider work experience; please contact us by e-mail for further information.
The volume, duration and structure of the curriculum
The volume of the e-course in Kinesiology is 50 academic hours, of which 50 academic hours is independent learning (including e-learning). One academic hour is equal to 45 minutes.
Kinesiology e-course can be completed for two years after enrolment. You can complete the e-course at your own time and pace, as the e-course is based on recorded video lectures.
You can find the structure of the Kinesiology online course in the future here.
Learning outcomes and documents to be issued after the online course
The Kinesiology online course assesses the achievement of learning outcomes. To achieve the learning objectives, participants are required to take multiple-choice tests and complete various written tasks: answering short questions, describing processes, analyzing movements, etc. A final test and a written assessment are also required. A certificate will be issued on the achievement of the learning objectives. If not all the learning outcomes are achieved, a notice is issued. The notice will be awarded upon completing at least 70% of the online course.
Sending a certificate within Estonia is free of charge; sending abroad is subject to agreement. We can also issue the certificate electronically on request.
Topics of the online course
The Kinesiology e-course includes the following topics:
- definition of kinesiology;
- delimitation of kinesiology from other fields;
- joints and their types;
- movements of the human body;
- axes and planes;
- muscular operating regimes;
- skeletal muscle cooperation;
- etc.
In addition to the Kinesiology online course, what other online courses could you participate in?
The Kinesiology online course is closely related to various fields, so it is worth considering, in particular, the Kinesio Taping online course and the different online courses on massage.
