The massage and testing online course is beneficial for the practicing masseur. You can perform a more structured and targeted massage once you know how to identify tense skeletal muscles through testing. For example, if you can, through testing, determine that the client has tight hamstring muscles, you can focus the massage on relaxing these muscles. The same principle can be applied to the biceps brachi, gastrocnemius, latissimus dorsi muscle, etc. The online course will also review joint testing, as the data collected through joint testing will allow for a more systematic approach to a massage session.
Requirements for starting a course
There are two prerequisites for participation in the online course on massage and testing. Firstly, you must have previously completed a Functional Anatomy online course or a similar course. The underlying reason is that the abovementioned (online) course provides knowledge of the skeletal muscle system and of the basic movements of the human body; this is essential for a more systematic understanding of the human body movements used in testing. Secondly, at least one (online) course on massage must have been completed previously – one of the best choices would be Classical Massage, as this (online) course provides the basics of massage. Knowledge and skills in at least one type of massage will help to better understand the data collected from testing in the context of massage.
If you plan to participate in the online course “Massage and Testing,” please send copies of your Functional Anatomy and massage (online) course certificates to koolitused@multifarius.ee after enrolling. You do not need to send copies of the certificates if you have completed the Functional Anatomy and massage online course with us. In addition to previous studies, we will also consider work experience; for further information, please contact us.
Volume, duration and structure of the curriculum
The volume of the online course "Massage and Testing" is 30 academic hours, of which 30 are for independent learning (including e-learning). One academic hour is equal to 45 minutes.
The online course can be accessed for two years after enrolment. It is based on recorded video lectures, so you can complete it at a time and pace that suits you.
In the future, you will find the online course structure about massage and testing here.
Learning outcomes and documents to be issued after the online course
The online course - Massage and Testing - assesses the achievement of learning outcomes. To achieve the learning objectives, you will be required to take multiple-choice tests and complete various tasks (e.g., answering short questions). A final test and a written assessment are also needed. A certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the learning outcomes. If all learning objectives are not achieved, a notice will be issued. A notice will be issued when at least 70% of the e-course has been completed.
Delivery of the notice or certificate within Estonia is free of charge; delivery further abroad is subject to agreement.

In addition to the online course “Massage and Testing,” what other online courses could I take?
